Have you noticed a Grower’s Select label on your latest prime purchase? This label indicates our premium product offerings that have been handcrafted and curated for Pennsylvania patients with care, through years of cultivation experience and selective breeding.

This month we’re launching another duo of custom illustrations for two patient-preferred Grower’s Select strains: African Thai #15 and Sour Blueberry #2. We’ve created this artwork to capture the essence of our Grower’s Select strains, giving patients a feel for the pungent diesel aromas in Sour Blueberry #2 and depicting African Thai as the “king” of prime genetics. These Grower’s Select cultivars are among the most in-demand flower in our strain library and feature hefty trichome coverage and terpene percentages that yield prime extracts.

Read on for an in-depth look at the enduring genetic legacy and cultivation expertise that make African Thai #15 and Sour Blueberry #2 prime experiences.

African Thai #15

Lineage: Unknown Durban x Thai Hybrid

Terpene Content: D-Limonene, B-Myrcene, B-Caryophyllene, A-Humulene

From Our Grower: African Thai flower displays a true sativa structure that is covered in trichomes, with a flavor similar to Sour Diesel and tea leaves.

Fun Fact: This legendary strain was the unexpected result of a small batch Colorado breeding project from relatively unknown genetics. While the exact lineage and history of its South African Durban parent remains a mystery, the Thai lineage of this strain shines through in its extraction performance that yields concentrates with impressive values for both THC and terpenes. Our Sr. Director, Production and Facilities, Brandon Miller, reports significant feedback from Pennsylvania patients regarding their success in pressing rosin from African Thai #15 flower.

Sour Blueberry #2 (Diesel Pheno)

Lineage: Subrob’s Sour Diesel x Blue Dabney (Blueberry)

Terpene Content: B-Caryophyllene, D-Limonene, B-Myrcene, Linalool

From Our Grower: The diesel pheno features dark green buds with purple hues, boasting dominant flavors of Sour Diesel and an underlying Blueberry sweetness. With a distinctive sativa lineage and coveted diesel aroma, Sour Blueberry genetics have been bred and re-mixed into countless hybrids across the globe.

Fun Fact: The seeds that created our prime diesel pheno were originally obtained through ICMAG, an online forum that functions like a swap meet for cannabis growers from around the globe. Brandon Miller likened ICMAG to the “reddit for cannabis.” He notes that besides being a virtual seed bank, this forum also helped growers share and develop cultivation technology that is widely implemented in the medical marijuana industry today.
