About the name: The Kunduz name reflects the strain’s maternal parent Kunduz IBL (inbred line). The Kunduz is a true breed strain Indica from Afghanistan. The “D” version relates to the mother plant that was labeled “D,” which also had the most desirable characteristics of the mothers used in this cross vs. the “Kunduz B” and the “Kunduz Z.” Those strains were bred with different mothers.

From our grower: Kunduz D has been described as one of prime’s most unique cultivars for its distinct smell and flavor. A recent lab test for the flower form tested at almost 4 percent total terpenes, and nearly 2 percent alpha-Pinene. “It just has novel flavors,” says Brandon Miller, Senior Director of Production and Facilities. “It’s really unlike any other cannabis there is.”
Fun fact: The strain was bred months before the launch of Prime Wellness of Pennsylvania’s 30,000-square-foot facility, making it one of the newest strains in the prime inventory. The maternal Afghani strain is well-known in the cannabis community and was hand-selected by Phillip Hague, director of cultivation for Acreage Holdings.
